Senior Environmental Specialist / Project Manager – Industrial Pretreatment Programs

Key Responsibilities

• Manage municipal and industrial pretreatment program projects from proposal through completion.
• Prepare and review industrial discharge permits and permit modifications.
• Carry out Significant Industrial User (SIU) inspections and compliance evaluations.
• Interpret and apply federal, state, and local pretreatment regulations.
• Develop permitting strategies and compliance plans for industrial clients.
• Support POTW pretreatment program implementation and optimization.
• Review industrial wastewater treatment operations and monitoring programs.
• Prepare technical reports, compliance assessments, and regulatory submissions.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, municipal officials, and industrial facilities.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
• Support proposal development and business growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Required: 8-15 years of experience in environmental consulting, wastewater compliance, or pretreatment program management.
• Preferred: Experience with local limits development.
• Preferred: Experience supporting POTW program audits.
• Preferred: Existing relationships with municipal or industrial clients in New England.
• Preferred: Business development and proposal-writing experience.
