Key Responsibilities
- Actively mentor junior staff and support overall development of the team
- Attend project meetings and provide solutions to technical and administrative issues as necessary
- Market our services. Maintain and further develop the client database
- Show strong ability to manage project budgets and prepare change orders
- Schedule, train, and oversee subordinate staff members
- Prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines
- Oversee environmental projects
- Aid junior staff with issue resolution and training of field staff
- Responsible for several projects being performed simultaneously
- Prepare and review proposals and change orders
- Prepare and review environmental reports from junior staff
- Lead client meetings and/or calls to present/discuss report findings and conclusions
- Communicate project completion milestones with client and advise on any significant directional changes
- Direct site activities and maintain continuous communication with subordinate field staff and senior managers on several projects concurrently
- Independently prepare reports to be reviewed by a Principal
- Review reports that are completed by subordinates prior to Principal review
- Communicate with junior staff to direct field work performed by subcontractors and other ECS technicians and other field staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other Engineering degree applicable to Environmental Consulting, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of environmental principles and applications
- Extensive knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and environmental test methods
- Extensive ability to manage and develop new clients
- Seek out opportunities to develop relationships with clients
- Review and provide feedback of field and laboratory testing by others
- Perform training and/or corrective action as necessary
- Excellent ability to manage and develop new clients
- Experience delegating/assigning projects and tasks to other staff while also managing other projects independently
