Senior Environmental Scientist
APTIM is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist in California for our Solid Waste Services Group in the Concord area to support a portfolio of projects in environmental compliance, landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS) design, construction quality assurance, solid waste reporting, and environmental site assessments and remediation.

Responsibilities
- Lead teams or projects
- Prepare site and grading plans, GCCS design, pump and piping plans, and conceptual layouts for solid waste projects
- Conduct field inspections and construction quality assurance (CQA) oversight
- Lead and complete regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and special studies
- Anticipate client needs and identify solutions
- Solve complex problems using skills and knowledge
- Prepare and manage scopes, budgets, and schedules
- Coordinate with contractors and clients
- Collaborate with other team members
- Attend client meetings
- Provide oversight during the installation of monitoring wells and supervise other field tasks
- Communicate technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, and reports during work team meetings
- Ensure conformance to applicable technical standards, company policies, and procedures
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- BS/MS in Geology, Engineering, or related field
- 10-15 years of Landfill / Solid Waste experience
- Experience collecting environmental field data including groundwater, surface water, leachate, and landfill gas
- Ability to work on multidisciplinary projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Self-starter and problem solver
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations
- Ability to wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites
- Possess a "Safety First" work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with the California State Water Resources Control Board
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate
- Knowledge of statistical evaluation methods (Sanitas software knowledge a plus)
- Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner

Pay
As of the date of this posting, the pay range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000. Compensation depends on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
