PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Familiarity with natural resources permitting at the federal and state level, specifically USACE and USFWS
  • Familiarity with surveys required to successfully complete project permitting
  • Experience conducting wetland delineations and habitat surveys
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Prepares deliverables and permit applications
  • Effectively applies Audubon methodology and enforces project standards
  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
  • Maintains minimal exposure and risk on project
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Remains completely accessible to the project manager during the life of the project, ensuring specific requests are processed timely and appropriately
  • Participates as a contributing member of assigned Business Unit
  • Affords project support to project managers during the execution of projects

HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
  • Performs duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participates in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifies and reports hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Follows safe work practices and complies with applicable regulatory requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience Required:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies or Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering is preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience as a planner/scientist or similar role
    • Strong work experience with natural resources permitting at the federal and state level specifically USACE and USFWS
  • Experience Preferred:
    • Wetland certificate
    • 5+ years of experience with linear survey
  • Takes an ACTIVE role in developing their skills and progressing professionally
  • Identifies opportunities for team member improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
  • Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures
