PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Familiarity with natural resources permitting at the federal and state level, specifically USACE and USFWS
- Familiarity with surveys required to successfully complete project permitting
- Experience conducting wetland delineations and habitat surveys
- Creates and executes project work plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Prepares deliverables and permit applications
- Effectively applies Audubon methodology and enforces project standards
- Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
- Maintains minimal exposure and risk on project
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
- Remains completely accessible to the project manager during the life of the project, ensuring specific requests are processed timely and appropriately
- Participates as a contributing member of assigned Business Unit
- Affords project support to project managers during the execution of projects
HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
- Performs duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
- Participates in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
- Identifies and reports hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Follows safe work practices and complies with applicable regulatory requirements
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies or Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience as a planner/scientist or similar role
- Strong work experience with natural resources permitting at the federal and state level specifically USACE and USFWS
- Experience Preferred:
- Wetland certificate
- 5+ years of experience with linear survey
- Takes an ACTIVE role in developing their skills and progressing professionally
- Identifies opportunities for team member improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
- Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures
