About the role
Stantec's Environmental Services practice seeks a Project Manager and Senior Environmental Permitter with demonstrated experience in Massachusetts to lead environmental regulatory and project permitting efforts, provide project and client management, and support business development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Identify project-specific environmental regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with resource agency personnel
- Write and review technical reports
- Develop environmental permit applications (federal, state, and local)
- Present at public meetings
- Facilitate successful environmental permitting of multiple and varied projects
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting in Massachusetts including regulatory coordination and permit application development
- Desired experience with waterfront and in-water permitting experience for climate resiliency projects and infrastructure projects in the City of Boston
- Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations such as the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, MESA, MEPA, CEPA, Chapter 91 and Sections 401, 404, and 408 of the Clean Water Act
- Ability to effectively present information and represent clients in a public setting
- 10 years (or more) of project management and environmental permitting experience is preferred
- Knowledge of documents related to requests for proposals, invitations for bid and tendering offers
- "Hands-on" experience in managing permitting applications and projects from start to finish
- Knowledge of computer applications and functions, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Proven experience working in a team environment
- Ability to review project work, quantities, costs, accuracy of specifications, completeness, and constructability
- Demonstrated experience meeting project deadlines in a cost-effective manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including advanced technical writing abilities
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence and other written materials
