About the role
AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager to support our Oil & Gas business line and can be based in Midland, Texas. This role will lead the successful delivery of complex environmental projects for clients in the upstream oil & gas, midstream, refining, industrial, and related energy sectors. The selected candidate will oversee one or more projects from planning through execution, providing strategic project leadership, managing risk, ensuring financial performance, and fostering long-term client relationships through the consistent delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
- Consistently delivers planned profit margins.
- Consistently completes projects without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
- Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).
- Manages complex clients and projects within the oil & gas, energy, industrial, and environmental sectors.
- Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
- Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.
- Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or programs of projects.
- Leads and mentors multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project execution, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
- Supports business development efforts through client engagement, proposal preparation, and account growth initiatives.
Requirements
- BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of environmental consulting experience supporting upstream oil & gas, midstream, refining, industrial, or energy-sector clients.
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-disciplinary environmental projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality performance.
- Strong client relationship management skills with experience growing key accounts and securing repeat business.
- Experience leading project teams, mentoring project managers, and managing project risk, contracts, and financial performance.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance, site assessment and remediation, permitting, groundwater investigations, and regulatory programs applicable to Texas and the Permian Basin.
- Professional certification or registration preferred, such as PG, PE, CHMM, PMP, or a related credential.
- Existing relationships with Texas oil & gas, energy, or industrial clients are highly desirable.

Pay
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $99,000 to $139,000.
