Responsibilities
- Execute environmental compliance audits and advisory activities, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting while helping sites understand “the why” behind opportunities observed
- Evaluate site programs and operations to identify risks, compliance gaps, and improvement opportunities
- Develop clear, concise, and actionable audit observations
- Coach and mentor facility personnel and business leaders to support continuous improvement, create value, and build internal capability
- Work directly with site personnel to understand root causes and connect findings to practical actions
- Contribute to implementation of tools and processes that drive consistency across audits and help to improve audit processes and methodologies
- Participate in initiatives that enhance audit effectiveness and value delivery to stakeholders
Requirements
- Demonstrated capability in environmental compliance program development and oversight (e.g., water, waste, air)
- Hands-on experience supporting EH&S programs in manufacturing, with the ability to recognize challenges unique to that environment
- Ability to articulate EH&S concepts clearly and concisely to stakeholders
- Implement and support the usage of current and emerging technologies to analyze data that provide perspectives on risk-related themes
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach, or enable others to build capability within an organization
- Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, including some international travel
Qualifications
- Environmental compliance auditing experience and/or training that helps manufacturing sites improve self-assessment programs
- Familiarity with environmental management systems and practical ways to strengthen them
- Compliance certification/s (e.g., CPEA)
- Air regulatory knowledge - including ownership of a site’s air program
- Experience in the petro-chemical industry
- Ability to think holistically about processes and propose unconventional yet practical solutions
- Experience with software and tools for EH&S management, such as compliance tracking systems, incident reporting platforms, or audit management systems
