About the role
Our healthcare payer client is seeking a Senior Enterprise Agile Delivery Lead to support an enterprise-wide Agile transformation. This individual will drive execution across multiple Agile teams, facilitate scaled Agile ceremonies, and ensure consistent delivery practices across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Scrum of Scrums, identifying cross-team dependencies, removing impediments, and driving alignment across multiple Agile teams.
- Facilitate and support Program Increment (PI) Planning, including planning logistics, dependency management, risk identification, and program board maintenance.
- Ensure work is accurately managed in Azure DevOps, including backlog hierarchy, user story decomposition, sprint planning, dashboards, and reporting.
- Enforce Agile governance and enterprise delivery standards, ensuring work follows established workflows and quality expectations.
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with business priorities.
- Work closely with engineering and QA teams to promote built-in quality, ensuring Definition of Done includes testing, automation, and production readiness.
- Monitor team health, delivery metrics, and flow efficiency to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
- Coach Scrum Masters and delivery teams to improve Agile maturity, predictability, estimation, and execution.
- Facilitate dependency management, risk mitigation, and escalation across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
- Provide executive-level status updates and communicate delivery progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience leading Agile delivery within large enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise Agile transformations and scaled Agile implementations (SAFe or similar framework).
- Deep understanding of Lean-Agile principles, systems thinking, Program Increment (PI) execution, and dependency management.
- Advanced experience with Azure DevOps, including backlog hierarchy, Boards, Queries, Dashboards, delivery metrics, and reporting.
- Experience facilitating Scrum of Scrums, PI Planning, and cross-functional Agile ceremonies.
- Strong experience coaching Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and delivery teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence directors and executive leadership.
- Experience working in complex, cross-functional environments with multiple concurrent Agile teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a healthcare payer or managed care organization.
- Experience supporting enterprise application modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or comparable Agile certification preferred.
- Experience working with distributed and remote Agile teams.
Additional Information
Remote (U.S.-based candidates only). Must be available during Pacific Time business hours. Experience supporting California healthcare payers or regulated healthcare organizations is highly preferred.
Pay
$60-$75/hour (depends on experience level).
Schedule
This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours per week.
