Responsibilities
- Prepares drawings, plans, and other CADD documents as needed to support project matters using Civil 3D, including the use of corridors, surface manipulation, plans, profiles, and cross sections.
- Pipe network knowledge preferred.
- Performs field inspections. Records and reports inspection data.
- Prepares quantity estimates and assists with detailed estimating.
- Tabulates data and prepares charts, graphs, or sketches.
- Gathers and measures field data, evaluates field conditions.
- Aids engineers in the preparation of construction design documents.
- Prepares exhibits, appendices, and maps as required for permit submissions.
- Operates various software applications, ability to read, update, and maintain various records and files.
- Aids in the preparation of engineering design calculations.
- Works closely with personnel from other departments as necessary to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements.
- Aids in soil testing and soil sampling.
- Promotes new business for the total company and for own area of expertise.
- Maintains neat and orderly work area which will allow access to project information to other team members.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with Department/Branch Manager, related staff, and the general public.
- Promotes interdepartmental communications and cooperation.
- Encourages and promotes job safety to staff.
- Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions for self and others.
- Performs other tasks as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in an engineering related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Experience in field inspection or construction techniques and materials preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD is required.
