Responsibilities

  • Prepares drawings, plans, and other CADD documents as needed to support project matters using Civil 3D, including the use of corridors, surface manipulation, plans, profiles, and cross sections.
  • Pipe network knowledge preferred.
  • Performs field inspections. Records and reports inspection data.
  • Prepares quantity estimates and assists with detailed estimating.
  • Tabulates data and prepares charts, graphs, or sketches.
  • Gathers and measures field data, evaluates field conditions.
  • Aids engineers in the preparation of construction design documents.
  • Prepares exhibits, appendices, and maps as required for permit submissions.
  • Operates various software applications, ability to read, update, and maintain various records and files.
  • Aids in the preparation of engineering design calculations.
  • Works closely with personnel from other departments as necessary to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements.
  • Aids in soil testing and soil sampling.
  • Promotes new business for the total company and for own area of expertise.
  • Maintains neat and orderly work area which will allow access to project information to other team members.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with Department/Branch Manager, related staff, and the general public.
  • Promotes interdepartmental communications and cooperation.
  • Encourages and promotes job safety to staff.
  • Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions for self and others.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in an engineering related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Experience in field inspection or construction techniques and materials preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD is required.
