Responsibilities
- Manage current plant capital projects > $1M from inception to completion.
- Manage major capital projects with scope ranging from $.5 – >$200M.
- Aids in overall management of capital budget for the plant and ensures financial policy is being followed as it relates to capital project management.
- Must be knowledgeable in all areas of OSHA’s process safety management and EPA’s risk management program (RMP) requirements.
- Works with operations team to generate layout drawings, gather competitive bids, coordinate installation of equipment, track invoices and payments.
- Establishes and tracks key performance indicators (KPI’s) for plant PSM coordinators.
- Completes training courses in PSM and Ammonia Operator I.
- Coordinates plant compliance with process safety management (PSM) regulation.
- Arranges to have appropriate records prepared and maintained.
- Maintains frequent communication with all plant departments as well as external vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or related field strongly preferred.
- Combination of directly related experience and education will be considered.
- 5 – 7 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility strongly preferred.
- Beef processing and rendering knowledge strongly preferred.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Efficient time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills, including knowledge of AutoCAD, SAP and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to travel between 50%-75% of the time to beef facilities.
