Accountabilities
- Leading and developing a high-performing team of 20+ engineers across threat intelligence, incident response, and detection engineering.
- Setting the technical vision and strategic direction for security threat detection, response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Owning end-to-end incident response processes, from initial detection and investigation through resolution and post-incident analysis.
- Driving the development of threat intelligence capabilities to improve security visibility and strengthen defensive strategies.
- Ensuring security practices align with compliance requirements and partnering closely with legal and compliance stakeholders.
- Building strong relationships with security leadership, engineering teams, and executive stakeholders as a trusted security partner.
- Balancing security improvements with product usability by reducing friction while maintaining strong protection standards.
- Supporting hiring strategies, organizational planning, and investment decisions across the broader security function.
- Promoting operational excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within security engineering teams.
- Leveraging emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve security operations and threat management capabilities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with significant experience leading engineering teams at scale.
- A strong security foundation built through experience in areas such as threat intelligence, incident response, security operations, or detection engineering.
- Proven experience managing engineering teams of 15+ people, including managers or senior technical leaders.
- Track record of developing senior technical talent and building high-performing security organizations.
- Deep understanding of threat detection, incident response processes, and security operations in complex environments.
- Experience leading teams through high-pressure incidents and rapidly changing priorities.
- Strong ability to collaborate with legal, compliance, executive leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Resilience, adaptability, and comfort operating in environments where priorities continuously evolve.
- Ability to work from North America, with preference for candidates located on the East or West Coast.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within SaaS or cloud-native technology environments.
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP.
- Experience building or scaling threat intelligence programs.
- Active involvement in the cybersecurity community.
- Experience applying AI and agent-based technologies to solve security challenges.
