Overview

Company Credit Genie is a mobile-first financial wellness platform designed to help individuals take control of their financial future. Leveraging artificial intelligence, we provide personalized insights and build a financial ecosystem with tools and services for instant access to cash and building credit. Founded in 2019 by Ed Harycki, a former Swift Capital founder acquired by PayPal in 2017, we are backed by Khosla Ventures and led by industry pioneers from PayPal, Square, and Cash App. This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing fintech startup where your work will significantly impact both the company and the financial well-being of our users.

What You'll Do

  • Technical Leadership: Set technical direction for the team, aligning engineering efforts with business priorities. Lead system design review, providing critical feedback to shape architecture. Stay hands-on by writing code and stepping in to unblock the team or fill in for engineers when needed.

  • People Leadership: Run consistent 1:1s, give direct feedback, and develop clear career plans for each direct report. Mentor and coach engineers to help them grow into stronger ICs and future leaders. Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and urgency.

  • Operational Excellence: Promote engineering best practices focusing on reliability, observability, and code quality. Manage and continuously improve team processes, including sprint planning, execution, and retrospectives. Own incident response for your team's systems, including on-call participation.

Success Looks Like

  • Bias toward building, not just overseeing. Actively engage in hands-on work, not just delegating tasks.

  • Low ego, high initiative. Address broken processes proactively without waiting for permission.

  • Constructive with peers. Challenge other engineering leads directly when necessary, not just within your own team.

  • All-in. Embrace the intensity of a high-ownership, fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative environments with a bias for action
