Senior Engineer - Utility Telecommunications

Responsibilities

  • Verify implementation feasibility
  • Document site details
  • Create a full design package meeting client standards for construction
  • Collaborate within a team environment
  • Research and create engineering designs of complex telecommunications solutions, preferably in the Power/Utility industry
  • Create designs and full construction packages for robust telecommunications solutions using Fiber, Microwave, SONET MUX, MHz, Radio, FAN, P-LTE, Circuits Paths, Power, Switches, Routers, TCP/IP, and subtending devices
  • Develop and document detailed project plans for programs involving cross-functional teams and challenging requirements
  • Create and markup SLDs, interconnect diagrams, WAN, LAN, tower drawings, etc.
  • Multitask and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with substation, engineering specialists, management, and systems administration teams
  • Use Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, and MS Office suite to create detailed documentation and designs
  • Experience with MicroStation and Auto CAD is a plus
  • Experience doing pathloss studies and calculations is a plus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field
  • PE License (CA or NV) is highly valued
  • 10+ years of experience in telecommunications
  • Experience in Substation or Distribution will be considered
  • 10+ years of researching and creating engineering designs of complex telecommunications solutions
  • Preferably in the Power/Utility industry
  • Ability to manage tasks under tight deadlines
  • Experience creating designs and full construction package for robust telecommunications solutions using the following: Fiber, Microwave, SONET MUX, MHz, Radio, FAN, P-LTE, Circuits Paths, Power, Switches, Routers, and subtending devices
  • Battery Storage is a plus
  • Proven track record of success and delivering results
  • Strong sense of methodology, process, and metrics in managing functions and projects
  • Experience in developing and documenting detailed project plans for programs involving cross-functional teams and challenging requirements
  • Experience creating/marking up SLD’s, interconnect diagrams, WAN, LAN, towers drawings, etc.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team development
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Solid experience working with facilities, substation, engineering, management, and systems administration teams
  • Must have excellent skills using Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, MS office suite
  • Exposure to Bentley MicroStation and/or Auto CAD is a plus
  • Must be able to pass a NERC level background check
