About the role

This position is in our Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania office. The role of Senior Engineer is to assist in managing construction inspection/management, design and delivery of large projects and maintaining and improving relations with current and future clients. As a leader they will be responsible for the development and delivery of successful transportation projects such as bridges and roads. Provides direct oversight of plan reviews, specifications, and oversight of tasks; acts as advisor and is actively involved to meet schedules and resolve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and growth of our Pennsylvania Transportation Practice.
  • Provide oversight and input on transportation projects from inception to delivery, including bringing in new clients and managing existing client relationships.
  • Aid in, and be actively engaged with prospective client's relationship building and maintenance.
  • Assist with managing and monitoring financial performance of project budgets.
  • Perform on technically complex projects as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members.
  • Stay up to date on regulatory changes and may establish working relationships with regulatory officials.
  • Participate in client functions, trade shows and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Business development experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base.
  • Techical expert in Transportation design and construction.
  • Efficient project management of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience checking the work of others for accuracy and completeness.
  • Understands client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, invoicing, and collecting accounts receivable.

Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 25 years of experience in business growth and delivery in the transportation industry.
  • Experience and contacts within local and state agencies.

Pay

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
