Senior Engineer: Threat Detection Engineering

About the role

The Senior Engineer position involves leading the development of tools for fraud analysts and investigators. The role requires working with a team of skilled engineers and analysts to solve complex problems and get hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of skilled engineers and analysts to reliably solve complex problems
• Get hands-on experience with cutting edge technologies
• Protect Target and guests from frauds like gift card scams, returns/refunds abuse, account takeovers

Requirements

• Four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent preferred
• 5+ years of professional experience in this role, or a relevant and similar role
• Experience working with Kotlin/Java, Kafka, SQL/NoSQL DB
• UI development experience using React
• Experience with Spring Boot Framework, Gradle, any unit & integration testing framework
• Willing to work in a team-oriented environment
• Interested in cyber threat or fraud detection
• Ability to demonstrate analytical expertise, close attention to detail, excellent critical thinking, and adaptive learning
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.

Pay

The pay range is $98,000.00 - $176,000.00. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.
