Senior Engineer, Software Systems Design Engineering

About the role
Translate high-level system architecture into practical designs supporting current and next-generation Battery Management System (BMS) products. Support seamless integration of ADI’s system, hardware, and software solutions for Automotive OEM and Tier 1 ecosystems. Facilitate customer integration of BMS products by diagnosing implementation issues, validating solutions through internal testing, and delivering verified code examples with test results. Collaborate cross-functionally with system architects, product managers, algorithm designers, software and hardware engineers, and customers. Position includes partial telecommute (2 days/week WFH) and up to 10% domestic and international travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop and debug embedded BMS software on ARM-based microcontrollers using C programming.
- Design and maintain BMS Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for proof-of-concept demonstrations and embedded system evaluations using C#.
- Create terminal-based automation tools for BMS system testing using Python.
- Document technical knowledge by writing application guides and technical articles for internal teams and external customers.
- Work with embedded system hardware, including MCU, ADC, GPIO, PWM, and automotive communication protocols (Modbus, CAN, CAN-FD) and hardware interfaces (SPI, isoSPI, I2C).
- Utilize lab equipment including power generators, oscilloscopes, and Saleae Logic Analyzer for waveform analysis.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field (foreign education equivalent accepted).
- Two years of experience developing software systems within Battery Management Systems and Embedded System environments.
- Expertise in C/C++ software development, GNU Compiler Collection (GCC), and Eclipse-based IDEs (CrossCore Embedded Studio, AURIX Development Studio).
- Expertise in Python scripting, GUI development using C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MATLAB/Simulink system modeling tools.
- Experience with automotive domain standards and frameworks, including ISO 26262 (functional safety) and AUTOSAR (software architecture).
- Experience with Git or SVN for Source Control Management.
Pay
$134,971 - $165,615 per year
