Senior Engineer, Network Engineering
About the Role
Ezee Fiber is seeking an accomplished and technically proficient Engineer, Senior Network Engineering to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our rapidly expanding network infrastructure. This is a strategic leadership role that requires deep technical expertise, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. You will drive architectural decisions, ensure network resilience and scalability, and mentor engineering teams to support our mission of delivering world-class connectivity solutions.

Responsibilities
- Design and optimize high-performance network systems leveraging technologies such as DWDM, CWDM, XGSPON, GPON, and Metro Ethernet.
- Lead the deployment, testing, and validation of core network infrastructure and services, ensuring minimal downtime and peak performance.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for Tier 3 and Tier 4 network incidents. Support the Network Operations Center (NOC) with expert-level troubleshooting and resolution of critical issues.
- Define, standardize, and maintain comprehensive documentation and processes for network asset management, configurations, and operational workflows.
- Lead long-term capacity planning initiatives to support future growth, ensuring the network meets scalability, availability, and performance goals.
- Identify, assess, and implement emerging networking technologies (e.g., 802.11ax, SmartOptics, BTI) to improve operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Ciena, ensuring alignment on technical capabilities and service-level expectations.
- Guide and mentor junior and mid-level engineers to foster technical excellence, continuous learning, and a culture of high performance.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership across departments to support business initiatives and infrastructure projects.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations to ensure rapid response and resolution during critical network outages or events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 4–5+ years of experience in a telecommunications, service provider, or carrier-grade network engineering environment.
- Expert-level knowledge of network operating systems such as Cisco IOS, Juniper OS, and Nokia IXR platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with telecom technologies, including DWDM, CWDM, GPON, XGSPON, Metro Ethernet, and CGNAT.
- In-depth understanding of routing protocols and architectures, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Segment Routing, and MPLS Traffic Engineering.
- Skilled in using advanced network testing and diagnostic tools such as OTDR, OLM, EXFO, and JDSU.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex infrastructure projects and mentor engineering teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general IT systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift and transport network/telecom equipment up to 55 lbs. as needed.
- Active participation in industry forums, technical communities, or conferences is a plus.
Qualifications
- Cisco CCNP/CCIE, and Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE certifications.
