About the role
We are seeking a decisive, collaborative technical leader with a proven track record in leading engineering teams and delivering high-quality software solutions for military products. This role involves leading a Board Support Package (BSP) software engineering team, collaborating with various functions, and participating in pursuit and proposal efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers ranging from entry level to experienced professionals
- Develop talent and support career growth
- Collaborate across functions, partnering with engineers, engineering leaders, program managers, and shared services
- Drive product strategy and engineering excellence
- Support business growth by participating in pursuit and proposal efforts
- Balance resources across multiple programs to meet schedules and business needs
- Ensure compliance with Collins Aerospace standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Manage staffing and program execution
Requirements
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- Experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, task delegation, and cross-functional collaboration in a technical development environment
- Experience in program execution, including bidding, project planning, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management
- Experience with embedded software development
- Experience with embedded Operating Systems using Linux, Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, and\or LynxOS
