Senior Engineer, IT Infrastructure

About the role

Design, deploy, and maintain the systems that power Southwire Company, a leader in technology and innovation. This role collaborates with security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure infrastructure resilience, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage physical, virtual, and cloud-based infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid environments
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
• Implement and maintain high-availability architectures, disaster recovery plans, and backup strategies
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce access controls, patch management, and compliance standards
• Monitor system and network performance; proactively identify and resolve capacity and reliability issues
• Document infrastructure, architecture, runbooks, and change management processes
• Participate in an On-Call rotation and support incident response efforts
• Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of experience in Enterprise IT infrastructure
• Master's Degree with 8-11 years of experience in Enterprise IT infrastructure
• Industry Certifications: AWS/Azure/GCP Associate, CCNA/CCNP

Qualifications

• Experience in designing, deploying, and managing physical, virtual, and cloud-based infrastructure
• Knowledge of network devices and their configurations
• Experience with high-availability architectures, disaster recovery, and backup strategies
• Ability to automate provisioning and configuration management tasks
• Experience working with security teams to enforce access controls and compliance standards
• Experience monitoring system and network performance and resolving issues
• Strong documentation skills
• Experience with incident response and on-call rotations
