Senior Engineer I - Product

About the role

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our Secure Products Group (SPG) in Colorado Springs, CO. This position focuses on New Product Development (NPD) and sustaining engineering for Microchip's SPG.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Manager or provide support to a Project Manager for New Product Development to release new products for production
• Assume ownership of assigned products in production to monitor and sustain product performance and profitability
• Provide technical assistance for customer returns as needed
• Support other team members for various product support needs as assigned
• Prepare overall project, characterization, qualification plans, and product documentation
• Validate and characterize silicon
• Participate in new product development teams and track project progress from project kick-off to release to production
• Ensure devices are manufacturable and are setup correctly in the production system
• Debug problems in an organized and efficient manner
• Lead in root cause analysis and problem solving efforts
• Perform other job related tasks as directed by the manager

Requirements/Qualifications

• BSEE, MSEE, or equivalent, with 5 - 7.5 years of industry experience
• Familiarity with product life cycles a plus
• Proven debug and problem solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• High proficiency with Microsoft tools to include Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Familiarity with setup and use of lab test equipment
• Ability to work individually, with local team members, and with off-site and cross-functional teams
• Ability to analyze and present data with clarity and proficiency
• Proficient in the use of standard office computer equipment and business applications

Pay Range

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,000 - $105,000. Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
