Senior Engineer - GenAI Engineering

Job Summary

GE Vernova is seeking a motivated Prompt Engineer to build a dedicated team leveraging Generative AI. The role focuses on automating prompting, developing frameworks for prompt reuse across businesses, and creating software solutions for internal and external needs. The ideal candidate will operate at the intersection of advanced AI technology and traditional energy industry operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prompt Development: Collaborate with domain experts to translate business needs into clear, effective LLM prompts; develop, test, and refine prompts for high accuracy and relevance.
• Integration: Work closely with software developers to integrate LLM solutions into existing or new applications.
• Framework Building: Contribute to a scalable framework for prompt engineering to promote reuse and knowledge sharing across business units.
• Optimization: Gather and analyze user feedback to continually improve prompt effectiveness.
• Strategic Alignment: Stay updated on LLM advancements to aid in tool and platform selection decisions.
• Documentation: Document prompt engineering processes, best practices, and use case outcomes to build a comprehensive knowledge base.

Requirements

• Education: Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant industry experience, 3+ years of experience in prompt engineering (e.g., OpenAI GPT models, Hugging Face), 3+ years of programming experience in Python or other AI/ML languages.
• Skills: Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) and data libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy), experience with NLP or machine learning projects (internships or professional), familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), strong problem-solving skills, ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $113,200.00 – $188,800.00 (U.S. based). Geographic differentials may apply (110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas).
• Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus eligibility.
• Housing & Travel: Housing and travel stipends provided for the required 3-month residency in Niskayuna, NY.
