Senior Engineer - Distribution Reliability Planning
About the role
Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer - Distribution Reliability Planning to join its Planning team. This position is part of the Electric Distribution Reliability Planning group, responsible for evaluating and improving the reliability and resiliency of over 1,000 distribution circuits.
Responsibilities
- Perform distribution planning studies and reliability analyses using Synergi Electric and other engineering software tools.
- Monitor, analyze, and report electric distribution reliability performance.
- Develop, evaluate, justify, and prioritize capital and operational reliability improvement projects.
- Prepare engineering studies, cost-benefit analyses, technical reports, and project recommendations.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify risks and develop practical solutions.
- Review engineering designs and project documentation to ensure reliability benefits and compliance.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools supporting distribution system reliability.
- Communicate technical information and support the development of the engineering workforce.
- Support emergency response efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree or Professional Engineering (PE) license in electrical, mechanical, civil, or other relevant engineering field.
- Substantial experience in planning, design, and technical field work (typically gained after 8+ years of practice).
- Demonstrated organizational, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Knowledge of engineering economics and utility accounting.
- Experience with complex engineering projects.
Benefits
The pay range for this position is $108,200.00 - $180,200.00, and this role is eligible for annual goals-based incentive bonuses.
