Senior Power Distribution Reliability Engineer

This role is based at the Port Arthur Platform within the Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering Department.

Join our dynamic US Refining & Chemicals Electrical Engineering Team as a Senior Power Distribution Reliability Engineer at our Port Arthur Platform. The role focuses on maintaining and improving the power distribution network, balancing short-term and long-term goals, interacting with stakeholders, and ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with all groups within the Platform, including Engineering, Business teams, Capital, and Turn Around.
• Oversee the design, selection, configuration, maintenance, development, and implementation of life cycle plans for the power distribution systems at the refinery.
• Analyze existing systems and develop strategies to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality of the power distribution systems through benchmarking and gap closure analysis.
• Troubleshoot power distribution system failures and work with the Power Distribution Coordinator to prioritize and complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support for the power distribution system as required.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience.
• Knowledge and experience in ISA, ANSI, NEC, NESC, IEEE, and OSHA 1910 standards as they apply to electrical equipment and safe work practices.
• Experience in the application of protective relaying.
• Experience in the design and troubleshooting of electrical switchgear.
• Knowledge in the repair and control of both induction and synchronous motors.
• Experience in the use and interpretation of data collected with standard electrical test equipment.
