Job Profile Summary

The Senior Engineer, Oracle Finance Systems Integration & Data Architect (remote) is the hands-on technical owner responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the high-volume data pipelines that connect Oracle Cloud Financials to the enterprise data ecosystem.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Architect and Maintain Financial Data Pipelines
  • Design, build, and optimize automated data extraction pipelines from Oracle Cloud Financials into the Enterprise Data Lake using Oracle BICC, Azure Data Factory, and cloud-native storage platforms (Azure Data Lake, Snowflake).
  • Maintain a comprehensive data dictionary that maps Oracle's underlying data model across GL, AP, AR, and Fixed Assets to the enterprise canonical data model, ensuring downstream consumers receive clean, reliable, and well-documented financial data.
  • Engineer and Support Application Integrations
  • Develop and sustain synchronous and asynchronous integrations between Oracle Cloud Financials and enterprise systems — including Workday (HR/Payroll), third-party financial platforms, and banking systems — using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), REST/SOAP APIs, FBDI, and ADFdi.
  • Build robust error-handling frameworks, including automated alerting and dead-letter queue management, so that integration failures are detected and resolved before impacting financial close or reporting cycles.
  • Ensure Financial Data Compliance and Security
  • Apply and maintain security protocols governing the movement of sensitive financial data, including HIPAA-compliant data handling, SOX-aligned data lineage controls, and field-level encryption standards using Azure Key Vault and Oracle Vault.
  • Manage identity and access controls — including Okta SSO, OAuth 2.0, and SFTP key management — to ensure that financial data is protected across all integration points and that audit trails are complete and defensible.
  • Build and Sustain Reporting Infrastructure
  • Configure and maintain Oracle BI Publisher report bursting to deliver financial data to downstream systems, FTP destinations, and content management platforms on schedule and without error.
  • Optimize SQL-based data extracts and OTBI queries to ensure reporting workloads do not degrade Oracle transaction processing performance, particularly during peak financial close periods.
  • Serve as Tier 3/4 Escalation Expert for Integration Incidents
  • Act as the final technical escalation point for complex, high-priority incidents involving Oracle Financials data pipelines, integration failures, or data discrepancies between Oracle and the Enterprise Data Lake.
  • Drive root-cause analysis, document resolution steps, and implement preventive controls that reduce incident recurrence and improve overall system reliability.
  • Support Implementation and Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute hands-on technical expertise during the Oracle Cloud Financials implementation, leading the integration workstream from design through go-live and hypercare.
  • Post go-live, proactively identify opportunities to automate data workflows, reduce manual data handling, and improve pipeline performance — using scripting tools (Python, Java) and DevOps principles to continuously raise the bar on integration quality.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct supervisory responsibility. The incumbent is expected to provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and may serve as a technical lead on project workstreams.
  • After-Hours & Business Continuity Support
  • This position is expected to participate in an on-call rotation to provide escalated support for critical integration failures, pipeline outages, and financial close incidents outside of standard business hours.
  • The incumbent is expected to be available for high-priority support during Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-End financial close windows — periods where data pipeline reliability is mission-critical and delays have direct regulatory and financial consequences.

Experience

  • Required: 8+ years of progressive IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to Oracle Cloud ERP or Oracle EBS technical integration and data architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience building enterprise-grade data pipelines from Oracle Cloud Financials to a cloud-based Enterprise Data Lake (Azure, Snowflake, AWS S3, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), FBDI, ADFdi, Oracle BICC, and REST/SOAP API development in a production Oracle Financials environment.
  • Prior experience in a regulated healthcare, insurance, or financial services environment.
  • Proven ability to navigate Oracle's data model across GL, AP, AR, and Fixed Assets modules to locate, extract, and map financial data.
  • Experience with data privacy and financial compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOX, GDPR/CCPA) as they apply to moving sensitive financial data out of an ERP.
  • Experience integrating Oracle Cloud Financials with Workday (HCM/Payroll) in a multi-system enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with Oracle EPM Cloud data pipelines (FDMEE, EPM Integration Agent) in addition to core ERP integrations.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Information Systems is a plus.

Training

  • Demonstrated working proficiency with Oracle Integration Cloud and Azure data engineering tools through formal implementation or project experience.
  • Working knowledge of data governance principles and their application to financial systems integration.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical / Role-Specific Skills:
  • Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), BICC, FBDI, and REST/SOAP APIs
  • Cloud Data Architecture & Pipeline Engineering (Azure Data Lake, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory)
  • SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Data Model Navigation (GL, AP, AR, FA modules)
  • Financial Data Compliance (SOX, HIPAA, SoD, data lineage governance)
  • Scripting and Automation (Python or Java for data transformation; EPM Automate for scheduling)
  • Oracle BI Publisher, OTBI, and Reporting Infrastructure
  • Identity and Access Security (Okta SSO, OAuth 2.0, Azure Key Vault, Oracle Vault)

Essential Physical Functions

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
