Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight of facility Operational Technology (OT) systems, equipment, and controls projects at JHS-Spokane.
  • Participate directly or provide oversight of controls engineers or controls technicians on project teams responsible for the design, acquisition, installation, and/or upgrade of critical systems and equipment used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for capital and expense projects involving controls in facility or production equipment, cost reduction, process improvement, and/or compliance.
  • Provide engineering support to contract manufacturing teams, including process development, process optimization, and deviation investigations.
  • Provide expert technical support of OT Controls projects, including facility and utility expansion, compliance upgrades, cost reduction, contract manufacturing, process improvements, and construction projects.
  • Support, guide, and train Maintenance controls technicians in controls system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Provide controls engineering support and guidance for contract manufacturing teams, including process development, recipe creation and maintenance, and support of related capital projects.
  • Ensure knowledge of regulatory requirements for the facility and processes to maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulatory agencies.
  • Manage and/or participate in major capital and expense facility projects in compliance with the “Project Management Guidelines” system, including scheduling, budgeting, meeting management, teamwork, communication, and documentation.
  • Work effectively with internal and external customers daily, including departments such as Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Validation, and Finance, as well as external entities like regulatory agencies, A&E firms, construction firms, vendors, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Participate in achieving both short-term and long-term company objectives as defined by upper management.
  • Develop detailed specifications and RFQs for use by A&E firms, contractors, or equipment manufacturers to accurately quote on projects.
  • Develop and use systems of engineering documentation required by regulatory agencies and in compliance with generally accepted engineering guidelines, SOPs, or quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, or similar engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of OT Controls systems engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Pharmaceutical or other Regulated Industry.
  • Allen-Bradley Controls system Hardware: PLC, PanelView HMIs, and Servo Drives.
  • Allen-Bradley Controls Software: RSLogix, FactoryTalk Studio.
  • Wonderware Intouch, InSQL Historian, Archestra IDE and DA Servers.
  • GE Proficy software packages: Fix32, iFix, and Proficy Historian.
  • TCP/IP Networking.
  • Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Rockwell Logix Programmer.

Working Environment

  • Work in classified/aseptic areas.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted.

Pay

Hiring wage: $103,050 – $164,900 + 10% annual bonus, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
