About the role
As a Senior Engineer, you will serve as the technical custodian and primary oversight for the Customer Experience Platform (CXP) services. You will lead the delivery of high-impact projects for the CXP services team, owning overarching solutions and fostering critical technical relationships with software engineering teams. Working within a cross-functional environment, you will collaborate with managers, designers, architects, stakeholders, and vendors to drive projects toward successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver Opportunities for Improvement (OFRs) aligned with tactical and long-term business and technology goals.
- Establish technical standards to optimize maintainability, Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR), performance, and release processes.
- Modernize and migrate legacy applications to the Verizon Consumer North Star Architecture.
- Author comprehensive high-level and low-level design documentation for all development initiatives.
- Engineer framework modules for the CXP Platform to address cross-cutting concerns and accelerate agile delivery.
- Define the AI Strategy for automating manual work done in the areas of defect triaging, outage triaging, etc.
- Evaluate business processes to anticipate requirements, identify improvement areas, and implement scalable solutions.
- Facilitate cross-functional ideation sessions to streamline omni-channel processes and enhance customer experiences.
- Capture and translate business objectives into accurate requirements, ensuring shared understanding among all stakeholders.
- Develop system enhancements and architecture designs that drive modernization and adoption of North Star principles.
- Manage iterative requirements and delivery using Agile methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Expertise in microservices architecture, design patterns, and RESTful service development (including JSON, authentication, and authorization).
Qualifications
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, GraphQL, and Reactive Programming.
- Cloud and infrastructure proficiency including AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes (EKS), along with Tomcat/Netty.
- AI & Automation: Advanced skills in developing AI agents to automate manual tasks (using Langgraph, ADK, A2A) and leveraging AI code generation tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Devin, CoPilot) across the SDLC.
- Design & Documentation: Experience authoring comprehensive design documentation that adheres to UML standards.
- Tools & DevOps: Practical experience with Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Ansible, Sonar, Kibana, and Grafana; familiar with enterprise tools like Clarity, Confluence, and G-Suite.

Schedule
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
Pay
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $101,000.00 - $194,000.00. This is an incentive-based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
