Senior Engineer

About the Role

Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes.
• Research and resolve design and construction problems.
• Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports.
• Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
• Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines; create and model a safe work environment and demonstrate safety practices.
• Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
• Monitor and promote quality standards and practices; ensure consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
• Develop understanding of project-related risk and protect the company by adhering to risk policies.
• Provide technical direction for production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects.
• Conceptualize the initial design and/or investigative approach for major project phases or oversee engineering work on projects of moderate scope.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work involving conventional practices and complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
• Review projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques; supervise analysis and formulate recommendations in written reports.
• Lead technical training and make informed decisions based on state-of-the-art technology issues.
• Provide leadership in marketing, sales, and business development.
• Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on projects.
• Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 8-11 years’ experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Qualifications

• Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.
