About the Role
The Senior Engineer defines problems, conducts and narrows research, analyzes criteria, finds and evaluates solutions, and makes decisions. A significant portion of this role involves researching, locating, applying, and transferring information.
Responsibilities
- Innovate new departmental processes and/or new products.
- Ensure reliability by completing tasks and projects as required by internal or external customer needs.
- Communicate with various departments, external customers, or directly with stakeholders on assigned tasks or projects (verbal and written).
- Occasional travel for training, customer projects, trips to Japan, or vendor evaluations.
- Follow verbal and/or written directions on tasks, training, project, or company policies.
- Provide verbal and/or written results, summaries, or requests during task or project execution.
- Deliver end products such as components, assemblies, drawings, data files, proposals, reports, or presentations.
- Collect, interpret, and clarify customer requirements.
- Develop or modify designs to meet customer-provided requirements.
- Provide specific designs and customer support to meet requirements.
- Establish and improve product cost targets.
- Complete detailed product analysis.
- Lead the introduction of standard products for distribution and manufacturing.
- Lead projects and assist other design engineers with projects.
- Provide training to engineers.
- Assist manufacturing with product and/or process support as requested.
- Record daily activities.
- Complete assigned tasks for training and development purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support company goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent education and experience as determined by management.
- Proficient with CAD software (Design & Manufacturing disciplines).
- Basic understanding of common manufacturing processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with internal and external customers.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Sustained seated posture for prolonged periods.
- Occasional physical demand for moving or rearranging files, storage boxes, or products.
- Fast-paced office environment.
