Senior Engineer, Asset Management (Hybrid Schedule)
About the role
The Senior Engineer, Asset Management will ensure Eversource's transmission programs are optimized for reliability and cost efficiency, considering regulatory environments. They will develop and prioritize capital programs, manage projects, and benchmark performance against industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develops coordinated transmission programs and budgets.
- Identifies and prioritizes projects for the one-year and five-year Capital Budget Plan.
- Works with Engineering, Project Management, and Cost Estimating to develop detailed project scopes, costs, and schedules.
- Selects the best solutions, documents alternatives analyses, and presents project approvals to relevant committees.
- Develops operational strategies for asset resource utilization, focusing on lifecycle planning and risk analysis.
- Analyzes transmission and substation reliability, sets goals, and reports findings to System Operations Review Committees.
- Issues transmission system performance measures and identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitates the creation and maintenance of the Transmission and Substation asset database.
- Supports tri-state processes for consistent asset data collection and management.
- Performs asset data analysis to inform asset management strategies and equipment replacement programs.
- Communicates Asset Management strategies internally and externally as needed.
- Facilitates Transmission & Substation benchmarking efforts, identifying best practices and opportunities for improvement.
- Develops and oversees asset management strategies, tools, and procedures.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required, with an Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
- An advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration is desirable.
- A minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required, with technical, operational, or engineering industry experience strongly preferred.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

- Knowledge of substation power system planning, engineering, maintenance, and operations.
- Strong background in process improvement.
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial documents.
- Understanding and utilization of economic, financial, and industry data.
- Working knowledge of information technology and office automation systems.

- Strong communication skills, including presentation and technical translation abilities.

- Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and pivot table development.
- Visual basic, SQL, or similar programming skills are highly desirable.
