About the role

The Energy and Renewables Team at Phillips Lytle is seeking a senior attorney with eight or more years of experience handling regulatory matters related to the energy sector. Candidates should have experience practicing before state public utility commissions and/or federal regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Handle regulatory matters related to the energy sector
  • Practice before state public utility commissions and/or federal regulatory bodies
  • Work on issues involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy, and/or New York Independent System Operator (or similar regional transmission organization)
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Contribute to the growth and success of the firm

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of experience in regulatory matters related to the energy sector
  • Experience practicing before state public utility commissions and/or federal regulatory bodies
  • Experience working on issues involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy, and/or New York Independent System Operator (or similar regional transmission organization)
  • Strong client relationship management skills

Qualifications

  • Law degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Benefits

Pay

  • Annual salary range: $152,000 - $225,000 in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester; $189,000 - $250,000 in Chicago, Garden City, New York City
