Senior Endpoint Engineer

About the role

This position will be part of the ET Digital Workplace Services function, responsible for managing strategic technical and operational partnerships with 3rd party organizations who will supply various operational functions to AEGON. The role of Senior Endpoint Engineer will work to identify opportunities to improve service performance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining Enterprise Technology’s Senior Endpoint Engineer ensuring that corresponding strategic goals are planned, advanced and achieved, and that they deliver business value.
• Provides direction for the vendor desktop strategy to ensure those technologies are cohesive and in sync.
• Strengthens alignment by participating in in strategic and operational planning activities involving GTS service owners and top technical staff.
• Provides consulting on operational processes to maintain strategic alignment and minimize customer impact.
• Provides consulting for architecture team in reviewing strategic technologies and solution design.
• Constantly engage in challenging the status-quo and bringing in more value to the organization through in-house/external technology solutions.
• Counsels on IT projects that are strategic in nature.
• Assesses various technologies, products, and services related to the management of performance-based information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technically related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5+ years demonstrated related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling effective articulation of strategy.
• Breadth of knowledge across majority of technology disciplines including web, database, data center, network, and workforce computing technologies.
• Deep understanding of modern endpoint management ecosystems, including SCCM, Intune, and automated application delivery frameworks, with the ability to drive modernization and standardization across a global environment.
• Proven understanding of cloud technologies available.
• Experience modernizing legacy code and automations with SQL databases, Visual Studio, and GitHub (branching, pull requests, CI), refactoring into maintainable, testable components.
• Experience with cloud-based virtual desktops including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), AWS WorkSpaces, Citrix, and Nerdio, covering deployment, scaling, image management, security, and cost optimization.
• Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) and enterprise ITSM processes, including automated PC provisioning/build pipelines (physical and virtual), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), full asset and lifecycle management workflows, and cost/billing reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of technology architecture principles.
• Understanding of current and future business needs met by infrastructure platforms.
• Possesses a strong planning orientation with integrative and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts and coach others in new technologies and strategies.
• Ability to drive and achieve consensus/support from large diverse groups.

• Deep expertise in modern endpoint management ecosystems such as SCCM, Intune, and automated application delivery frameworks, with the ability to drive global standardisation and modernisation.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and the major vendors providing cloud services.
