Responsibilities

  • Support the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Aerial Measuring System, Consequence Management Response Team, and Nuclear Search Program with a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to, on call duty roster, deployments, tracking and deconflicting competing events, tracking training readiness, reporting project information, and developing, coordinating, and executing training and exercise activities.
  • Work with RSL personnel from both Joint Base Andrews and Nellis to develop and manage training, coordinate outreaches and exchanges, plan and execute drills and exercises, and to support real-world operations.
  • Serve as a deployable and home team emergency response team member and be available for recall 24 hours a day while on duty. Must be willing and able to travel worldwide, sometimes deploying in austere conditions.
  • Provide support during non-working hours when available. Assist with equipment preparation.
  • Become a proficient user with the NA84 Asset Readiness Management System.
  • Maintain confidentiality and display a professional demeanor in daily activities.
  • Coincide and prioritize conflicting and/or challenging deadlines.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with customers and stakeholders at various levels from numerous federal agencies.
  • Exhibit a dedicated customer-service attitude and strive to provide excellent support to all the various stakeholders.
  • Professionally interface and coordinate with program managers and other personnel at all levels from NNSA, Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratories, and Radiological Assistance Program offices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other government agencies and external parties to facilitate exercise/drill requirements.
  • Perform related work as assigned by the Readiness Section Manager and ERS&L Department Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 5 years of professional level experience or equivalent training and experience.
  • Ability to use independent judgement, creativity, initiative, knowledge, and experience to resolve problems.
  • Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with proficient verbal and written communications capabilities.
  • Able to perform during non-working hours and take deployable on-call duty.
  • Able to handle the physical demands of deployment, including operations in austere environments and conditions, remaining on feet for long periods of time, and walking up to 5 miles per day.
  • Must be able to meet the specifications of the Deployment Authorization Program, including passing an annual physical, receiving DAP-required inoculations, and obtaining a US passport.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Non-emergency response domestic travel required approximately 10% of the time.
  • Flexible work schedule can be negotiated with the manager; employees can work 5/8's, 9/80's or 4/10's work-week.
  • Candidate must have, or be able to obtain, a "Q" clearance.
