Aeva is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) and prototype production in Mountain View, CA.

About the role

You will lead a team responsible for the successful transition of new products from engineering to full-scale production, with a focus on prototype builds and early-stage manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the NPI and prototype production team, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality builds.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve technical and process issues during product ramp-up.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new products.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize yield, cycle time, and cost efficiency in prototype and low-volume production.
• Monitor production metrics (e.g., yield, throughput, scrap) and report progress to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
• Train and mentor production staff on new processes and technologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role (NPI or prototype production preferred).
• Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly, precision manufacturing, or semiconductor/hardware production.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MES systems, lean manufacturing principles, and root-cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone).
• Excellent communication skills to interface with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with high-mix, low-volume production environments.
• Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.

Pay

$155,000 – $210,000 per year.
