Senior Electronics Engineer (m/f/d)
About the role
Your New Team
Do you want to play a key role in developing next-generation medical diagnostic devices that improve the lives of millions of patients?
We combine innovative circuit design with the highest quality standards.
Together, we shape the future of healthcare—precisely, reliably, and with a forward-looking approach.
In our Hardware Development department, you will join a highly motivated, interdisciplinary team of engineers, software specialists, and system architects.
We foster an open feedback culture, interact as equals, and support one another through complex technical challenges.
From the initial concept to series production, we work hand in hand.
Opportunity
- Conceptualization and circuit design of analogue and digital assemblies for diagnostic devices in medical applications
- Building prototypes and demonstrators
- Conducting systematic troubleshooting at the assembly and component levels
- Performing EMC pre-compliance testing
- Specifying & System Requirements: Define electronics specifications and interface documentation, actively contributing to global system requirements
- Standards-Compliant Design (IEC 60601): Design circuits in compliance with DIN EN 60601-1 (electrical safety, isolation concepts, MOPP/MOOP, clearance and creepage distances) and DIN EN 60601-1-2 (EMC)
- Approval & CE Compliance: Prepare, execute, and document standards-relevant tests to support external CE certifications in accredited testing laboratories
- Process & Interface Collaboration: Create technical documentation, oversee the transition of designs into volume production (DFM/DFT), and coordinate closely with adjacent technical disciplines
- Mentoring: Conduct design reviews and support junior team members with your technical expertise
Qualifications
- Successfully completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Medical Engineering, Mechatronics, Communications Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- At least 5–10 years of solid experience in independent hardware development, ideally gained within the regulated medical technology sector
- Routine experience with common design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCAD, EAGLE, or OrCAD) and circuit simulation (e.g., SPICE)
- Sound knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design—especially low-power design for battery-operated devices. Specific expertise in analogue technology, RF design, or electrical/functional safety is an advantage
- Strong practical experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, logic analysers, and electrical safety testing equipment
- Proficiency with the IEC 60601-1 / 60601-1-2 family of standards, understanding of ISO 14971 (risk management), and familiarity with CE approval processes for medical devices
- Deep insight into EMC-compliant design, Design for Manufacturability/Testability (DFM/DFT), and obsolescence management
- Business-fluent German and excellent written and spoken English skills
