Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Technician to support our Controls Solutions business. In this role, you will be responsible for testing HVAC components per agency standards, writing detailed test reports, and maintaining test equipment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who has a vast understanding of gas and cooling controls within residential and commercial HVACR equipment and is familiar with agency standards and reporting. You will be part of a team of engineers and other technicians.
Required Education, Experience & Skills
Minimum Degree Required: Associate of Science
Degree Area: Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology6+ years of experience in HVACR component testing and agency certification
Familiarity with test equipment such as environmental chambers, data acquisition systems, and measurement devices such as flow/pressure gauges and volt meters
Advanced knowledge of gas furnaces, water heating, and/or HVACR systems
Analytical problem-solving skills
Familiarity with international agency standards that apply to our customers' products
Experience with report writing and analysis tools such as Microsoft Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and Minitab
Testing expert in either Heating Controls or Cooling Controls
Preferred Education, Experience & Skills
Experience in Gas Valve agency certification, specifically CSAS
Skilled at presenting and summarizing test results and findings to internal teams
Experience in new product development (NPD) of HVAC controls and able to advise engineering on testing needed to meet agency requirements
Advanced LabVIEW skills
Onsite Work Arrangement
This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
