Senior Electrical Tech - Power Line Coordinator

About the role

This role will primarily oversee and coordinate operation, maintenance, and construction of Company-owned power infrastructure systems, including overhead power lines, substations, transformers, reclosures, and similar equipment. Secondary responsibilities include coordinating new installations of low voltage distribution within production and disposal facilities, as well as maintenance of such equipment at existing facilities. The role involves collaboration with power system consultants, engineering teams, utility personnel, and third-party contractors.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and coordinate the installation, maintenance, and repair of company-operated primary and secondary voltage electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
• Evaluate and correct system issues at electrical infrastructure installations, facilities, and well sites to ensure continuity of critical operations.
• Evaluate load requirements for new production and disposal facilities and submit associated service requests to utilities.
• Route development for right-of-way of overhead power distribution systems.
• Conductor sizing and coordination for overhead power distribution systems.
• Promote and provide a safe environment in accordance with all CLR HSE policies.
• Perform and coordinate inspections on existing electrical sites to ensure electrical safety and code compliance.
• Generate and close work orders as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or GED).
• Minimum of ten (10) years of electrical experience.
• Texas Journeyman Electrician or Journeyman Lineman License (TDLR), minimum.
• Valid Driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• Ability to pass a respiratory fit test, if applicable to route/location.
• Acceptable pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous oil and gas experience.
• Previous experience operating, maintaining, and/or installing overhead power distribution systems up to 25kV.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work overhead for extended periods.
• Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.
• Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day in all weather conditions.
• Ability to one-arm carry up to 25 lbs. without assistance.
• Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.
• Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20 lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects.
• Ability to work significant amounts of time as required to complete job responsibilities.
• Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure; appropriate safety measures are required.
