Senior Electrical System Design & Analysis Engineer
Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer in Tukwila, WA. As a member of the Advanced E-7 Electrical Power System Engineering team, you will work in a highly dynamic environment developing electrical power design for both the aircraft primary power system (Electrical Power Generation System, EPGS) and the secondary power system (Secondary Power Distribution System, SPDS). The E-7 is the world’s most advanced Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform, proven in global operations, designed to track multiple airborne and maritime targets simultaneously and provide situational awareness.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements for EPGS and SPDS components and software.
- Lead and coordinate work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware designs, and interface specifications.
- Lead work to test and validate that system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
- Oversee the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements in the development and production of EPGS and SPDS components and software.
- Solve problems concerning and provide support for fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot Advanced E-7 EPGS and SPDS.
- Author and update Specification Control Drawings (SCDs), Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Compile and review certification documents to demonstrate compliance with FAA airworthiness requirements, including Electrical Load Analysis (ELA) documents.
- Design and draft Functional Schematics of the power system.
- Develop and maintain relationships with teammates, peers, and supplier counterparts.
- Report progress and elevate issues to manager as required.
- Support FAA Certification activities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work.
- 14+ years of experience in Electrical engineering.
- Experience compiling ELA, ICD, and System Definition Document (SDD).
- Experience with Functional Schematic Drafting & Design.
Qualifications
- Experience with aircraft electrical systems design.
- Experience with aircraft power systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting aircraft electrical systems.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with FAA certification procedures for Part 25 regulations.
Schedule
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA.
- Shift: 1st shift.
Pay
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range for Senior Level: $176,800 – $239,200.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
