About the role

As a member of the Advanced E-7 Electrical Power System Engineering team, you will develop electrical power design for both the aircraft primary power system – Electrical Power Generation System (EPGS) and the aircraft secondary power system – Secondary Power Distribution System (SPDS). This position involves working with suppliers to provide qualified hardware and collaborating with the program wiring team to design the aircraft power system. Responsibilities include supporting lab test, aircraft build, flight test, and operational support for the E-7, the world’s most advanced Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements for EPGS and SPDS components and software
  • Lead and coordinate work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware designs, and interface specifications
  • Lead work to test and validate that system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Oversee the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements in the development and production of EPGS and SPDS components and software
  • Solve problems concerning and provide other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Troubleshoot Advanced E-7 EPGS and SPDS
  • Author and update Specification Control Drawings (SCDs), Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Compile and review certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems related to FAA airworthiness requirements, including Electrical Load Analysis (ELA) documents
  • Develop and maintain relationships with teammates, peers, and supplier counterparts
  • Design and draft functional schematics of the power system
  • Support FAA certification activities as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 14+ years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Experience compiling ELA, ICD, and System Definition Document (SDD)
  • Experience with functional schematic drafting and design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with aircraft electrical systems design
  • Experience with aircraft power systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting aircraft electrical systems
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with FAA certification procedures for Part 25 regulations

Pay

Summary pay range: Senior Level: $176,800 – $239,200 (based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations)

Schedule

This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA, for 1st shift.
