Senior Electrical Power Engineer
About the role
The power generation market is experiencing significant growth driven by strong capacity demand signals. Our national Power Generation team is poised for substantial expansion, and we are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams for power generation design projects, including support in Owner’s Engineering and Advisory roles.
- Develop and manage power plant systems, including simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.
- Support in project execution, including proposal technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development.
- Mentor young engineers and support in managing client relationships.
- Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members.
- Manage project reviews with management as needed.
- Lead marketing activities, including proposal technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development in response to requests for proposals.
- Work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design.
- Experience with power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance of plant designs such as raceway, lighting, and grounding systems.
- Significant level of design and engineer of record work experience with power plant systems.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis.
- Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software.

Skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team, or as a lead on a small team.
- Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills.
- Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, system grounding, physical design, and experience with other activities such as lighting and grounding design, including instrumentation and control and life safety systems.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. The targeted salary range for this position (based on experience and location) is $108,661 - $204,250.

This position is full-time and regular.
