About the Opportunity
C&I Engineering is looking for a talented and driven individual to join our team as a full-time Senior Electrical Power Engineer. C&I is a full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.
Responsibilities
- Prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations. Designs are well coordinated with other departments.
- Creates lists of engineering deliverables and tasks, and estimates effort hours for same, based on limited scopes of work for complex projects.
- Serves as a mentor to junior staff. Assists in training and development of others. Identifies training needs in the department chief.
- Creates a plan of execution for large and complex projects, anticipating the sequence of tasks, long lead and special items for engineering procurement cycle, and dependencies of information from others.
- Works within project team to integrate department plan into a multi-discipline project plan of execution.
- Prepares computer analyses and calculations.
- Uses vendor documents, coordination prints, surveys, and models to check dimensions, determine interface points, determine physical space requirements, and provide information to other departments.
- Specifies process instrumentation (level, pressure, flow, temperature, etc.).
- Helps develop P&IDs and create typical electrical and instrumentation design documents.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 12 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%.
- Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
- Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
- Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
- Valid Driver's License.
