Senior Electrical Estimator

We successfully manage a wide portfolio of high-profile projects from complex federal government and airfield contracts to utility construction and renewable energy initiatives valued up to and in excess of $5M.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and government projects (up to $5M+) using Accubid software.
- Government Bid Management: Lead the estimation process for federal, state, and municipal government projects, ensuring strict adherence to complex public works bidding requirements, FARs, and prevailing wage stipulations.
- Blueprint & Spec Analysis: Review and interpret complex electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and material/labor requirements.
- Takeoffs: Perform accurate and thorough electrical takeoffs, evaluating both underground and structural electrical needs, service and repair parameters, and complex infrastructure (e.g., airfields, utilities).
- Vendor & Supplier Negotiation: Solicit pricing from vendors, suppliers, and specialty contractors to secure the most competitive and reliable materials and equipment costs.
- Project Hand-off: Collaborate closely with the management team and field superintendents to transition awarded projects from the estimating phase to construction, ensuring our 100% self-performing workforce is set up for success.
- Site Visits: Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site walk-throughs to assess existing conditions and identify potential risks or hidden costs.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of professional electrical estimating experience within the commercial, industrial, and public works sectors.
- Government Expertise (Mandatory): Proven track record of successfully estimating and winning government/public works projects (federal, state, municipal, or airfield).
- Software Proficiency (Mandatory): Highly proficient in Accubid estimating software.
- Electrical Background: Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, National Electrical Code (NEC), and construction materials/methods.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and government contracting officers.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
