About the Role
At Collins Aerospace, a leader in intelligent aerospace and defense solutions, you will design, analyze, simulate, test, and integrate digital electronic modules and circuit card assemblies (CCAs). This role involves working on cutting-edge hardware designs for navigation and communication systems, supporting the Connected Battle Space and other mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
- Develop hardware designs incorporating processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry-standard interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART).
- Perform requirement capture, management, and verification for small to medium electronic packaging circuit cards.
- Prepare and present technical project information to peers, internal teams, and external customers.
- Identify and resolve project and factory issues (Root Cause Analysis) and recommend corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery.
- Conduct schematic capture and printed wiring board (PWB) layout design.
- Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional integrated product teams to align with project objectives.
- Serve as a technical lead or project lead for high-complexity hardware design, test, analysis, integration, qualification, and documentation.
- Design hardware to meet rigorous military requirements for environment, functionality, cost, and Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP).

Requirements
- Experience using Mentor Graphics Design Creation (Siemens EDA) tools: DxDesigner, xDX Designer VX, or equivalent.
- Experience in the design of high-reliability, extended-life electronic products and tooling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Communications design and simulation experience using tools such as Matlab and Simulink.
- Understanding of Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Test (DFT).
- Familiarity with bid, proposal, and earned value methods.
- Experience with DO-160 or MIL-STD-810/MIL-STD-461 qualification standards.
- Knowledge of lightning protection circuits and testing.
- FPGA development experience.
- Experience supporting hardware pursuits through proposal and cost estimation.
- Experience designing Special Test Equipment and tooling for IV&V and production efforts.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. Eligible employees may also participate in annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, depending on role level and business unit performance.
