About the Role

The Resilient Connectivity Products (RCP) Hardware Technologies team is seeking a Hardware Electrical Engineer II to develop next-generation advanced communication systems. You will contribute to high-speed digital electronics powering mission-critical communication products, including software-defined radios and data links for ground, airborne, and space platforms. This role supports the full lifecycle of circuit card development—from requirements and schematic capture through PCB layout, build, integration, testing, and verification.

Responsibilities

• Perform circuit card design lifecycle activities: requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, signal integrity analysis, board stackup and routing instructions, and printed wiring board layout coordination/review.
• Design, document, verify, test, and troubleshoot digital hardware for communication products using electrical engineering principles, including FPGAs, processors, DDR memory, and industry interfaces (Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop hardware designs meeting system performance and operational specifications.
• Contribute to new product development, engineering and production test hardware (circuit card assemblies, test fixtures, test interface adapters, cabling).
• Create test plans, perform root cause analysis, and support integration and testing.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Prior experience with schematic capture of electrical circuit designs and PCB layout, including familiarity with tools like Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Altium, Cadence Allegro, EAGLE, or KiCAD.
• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance (DoD Secret); active clearance preferred. U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with digital electronics designs involving processors, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR, and flash memories.
• Experience generating PWB layout constraint guidelines and overseeing routing, fabrication, and assembly.
• Familiarity with signal integrity and timing analyses tools (e.g., Hyperlynx).
• Experience with COTS test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies).
• Familiarity with designing and integrating circuit cards, test fixtures, and/or cables.
• Experience with Agile for Hardware Development (JIRA) is a plus.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The final offer considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Eligible employees may participate in annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs.
