Senior Electrical Engineer NCD Engineering

About the Role

Design standard products using customer specifications. Design standard jobs with guidance. Interface with sales, customers (with supervisor), and shop personnel. Direct designers in completing wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret customer job specifications
• Order materials electronically
• Create drawings using advanced drafting/CAD skills
• Transmit drawings to shop and customers
• Check wiring diagrams completed by others
• Analyze and answer technical questions from designers
• Apply product knowledge and technical skills to solve simple application problems independently with minimum supervision
• Apply industry standards (NEC, ANSI, and others) as applicable to job and product
• Design products in the most economical way while achieving quality
• Attend in-house and outside training sessions
• Attend local professional associations
• Learn policies and procedures, work instructions, ISO policies, safety rules and regulations, and vendor products
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related area
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an engineering role
• Completed tasks are checked by more senior engineers

Skills

• Advanced drafting/CAD skills
• Proficient with electrical design and circuitry
• Able to read and interpret electrical symbols, characters, and modify drawings
• Basic understanding of power systems and relay applications as applied to products
• Able to interact on a regular basis with shop personnel
• Basic computer skills using Oracle, Word, and Excel
• Innovative mindset to improve existing products
