Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of healthcare projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure successful execution.
- Work collaboratively with project leaders, architects, design partners, peers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success metrics, and develop innovative and practical solutions, and meet the project's conditions of satisfaction.
- Lead cross-functional teams, facilitating communication and collaboration to achieve project milestones.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes.
- Engage with external partners, including vendors and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance and integration of project design.
- Establish strong relationships with healthcare providers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure design alignment with project objectives.
- Lead the electrical design for health and complex, critical non-health facility projects, including power distribution, lighting, backup power (generator/UPS systems), utility coordination, short circuit and coordination studies and coordination with other disciplines such as mechanical, technology and fire alarm.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure project requirements are met.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess project variables and develop reliable design solutions independently.
- Prepare detailed design documents, specifications, and reports.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare design standards and regulations.
- Participate in/lead project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Capabilities and Credentials
- 7+ years of experience in project management and electrical engineering within the health sector, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of engineers.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare codes, regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex project challenges.
- Proactive mindset with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
- Experience successfully delivering electrical engineering designs to Architects and Owners in the healthcare and non-healthcare market.
- Understanding and implementation of the principles of project management.
- Knowledge and experience with Lean Construction and IPD is a plus.
