About the Role
We are seeking a Senior or Principal level Electrical Engineer for electrical systems design work in the Hardware Engineering department. The candidate will be knowledgeable in several electrical engineering disciplines, including electrical and electro-mechanical design, engineering documentation, and Design Verification Testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform system design work, including electromechanical layout and implementation, per NEC code
- Power circuit design and verification
- Develop test plans and procedures
- Provide content for end-user documentation
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
- Interface with suppliers and contract design/manufacturing companies as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 8+ years of direct involvement in analog and power circuit design
- Experience performing power equipment design involving power supplies and/or inverters
- Experience with control and communications equipment plus supporting circuits for a complex system
- Working knowledge of the latest National Electric Code (NEC)
- Experience specifying, selecting, and integrating electrical components
- Understanding of AC voltage theory including three phase circuits and transformers
- Experience with DC components and circuits
- Proficient in reading component specifications and electrical drawings
- Proficient in creating system-level wiring and schematic diagrams
- Solid experience with the electro-mechanical aspects of a system product
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with battery storage and power equipment
- PLC or I/O signal design experience
- Cable assembly specification and design including physical layout
- Evaluation and qualification of 3rd party devices and equipment
- Bring-up and troubleshooting of prototype systems
- Systems Integration and/or Systems Engineering experience
Travel
May be required for collaboration with international teams or supplier visits.
