About the role
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the Energy Team in delivering projects focusing on distributed energy microgrids, large scale EVSE charging infrastructure, and technical and economic evaluations of energy systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of design packages from conceptualization to construction documents for multidisciplinary energy projects up to 1000V.
- Prepare interconnection permits and load letters.
- Deliver feasibility studies and red flag reports.
- Develop technical proposals for prospective work.
- Provide construction support and present work product to clients.
- Collaborate with an integrated team of urban energy professionals including energy modelers, campus thermal system engineers, civil engineers, economic advisors, and resilience & sustainability consultants.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering.
- At least 8 years of experience working in the renewable power generation sector at an urban or utility scale.
- Experience performing electrical engineering calculations and developing detailed design drawings and specification packages.
- Willingness/ability to obtain Professional Engineering (PE) license and assume the role of Electrical Engineer of Record (EOR).
- Strong technical communication skills (writing and verbal).
- Ability to perform power system techno-economic evaluations using software such as PVSyst, Helioscope, Homer or Xendee software.
- Experience with AutoCAD software, modeling, design and/or analysis software.
- Experience with engineering and design calculations for utility scale facilities such as grounding study, short circuit study, cable ampacity study, load flow study, layout, yield study and AC/DC voltage drop calculation.
Qualifications
- PE license or eligibility to obtain PE license.
- Passion and experience in distributed energy microgrids, large scale EVSE charging infrastructure, and technical and economic evaluation of systems.
- Ability to evaluate conceptual opportunities for microgrid applicability.

Pay
Boston Hiring Range: $128,000 to $159,000 per year.
Schedule
Based in East Geography with flexibility to work out of Boston, Chicago, New York, New Jersey or Washington DC offices.
