Responsibilities

  • Mentoring/Managing: Help grow a team that works together to create a collaborative environment that promotes career growth, the production of high-quality construction documents, client satisfaction, and acts as a safety net for each other.
  • Career Growth: Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers, EITs, and BIM Specialists with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project’s development.
  • Mentor, organize, and facilitate the growth of junior staff.
  • Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Marketing: Establish client relations, and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings regarding electrical systems.
  • Achieve client satisfaction by providing detailed design and coordination with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Attend and lead design meetings with other team members.
  • Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines.
  • Perform QA/QC review of construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Design support during construction including field observations, submittal & shop drawing review, Request for Information (RFI) support.
  • Travel: Some travel to job sites or other HDR offices could be required. This would be communicated in advance to give adequate coordination time with project work and personal life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the NEC, uninterruptible power systems, power distribution, generator support systems, grounding systems, and one-line creation.
  • Strong desire to stay current with the trends of the fast-paced industry of mission critical.
  • Working knowledge of the Uptime Topology standards.
  • Working knowledge of the following programs: Bluebeam Revu, SKM Power Tools (or similar power system analysis tools), CYMCAP (or similar programs based on Neher-McGrath and IEC-60287 methods), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strongly motivated and showing professional initiative.
  • Focused on positive client outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical and specification writing skills.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Colorado: $162,410.00- $206,913.00
