Position Description
The Electrical Engineer supports the development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of highly complex military equipment. In this role, the Electrical Engineer:
- research, plans, designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic and electrical systems and components.
- Utilizes advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures.
- Evaluates vendor capabilities, technologies, services and their ability to deliver required products or services.
Skills Required
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems that require a professional level of engineering knowledge.
- Experience creating, reading, and comprehending schematics and interconnect drawings.
- Ability to create and manage interface control documents.
- Ability to perform circuit simulation (PSpice or Ltspice).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey data, information, and technical results to customers.
Skills Preferred
- Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, LabVIEW.
- Familiarity with computer programming languages, e.g. C, C#, LabWindows/CVI.
- Familiarity with OrCAD and Visio, circuit board schematic & layout tools.
- Familiarity with design for components in a high EMI environment.
- Systems Engineering and manufacturing knowledge.
- Experience with engineering design of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems.
- Experience with integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and the development of electronic control logic.
- Experience developing and integrating power generation, conversion and storage solutions.
- Experience in the development and integration of ammunition handling/loading systems including autoloaders and large caliber rammer systems.
Education Required
- Typically requires 3+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field or 2+ years with a master's degree.
