We are seeking a hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer with strong FPGA/digital design experience, solid analog electronics skills, and experience designing low-noise, low-leakage precision measurement circuits in a regulated industry. This is an on-site position based in Melbourne, FL. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop microcontroller and FPGA architectures for medical measurement and control systems.
  • Develop and verify FPGA designs using Verilog/VHDL for real-time signal processing and timing-critical applications.
  • Design and troubleshoot low-noise, low-leakage analog signal conditioning circuits, including femtoampere-range measurement systems.
  • Define system requirements, functional specifications, and verification/acceptance criteria; participate in design reviews and design control activities.
  • Own electrical design documentation, including schematics, PCB layout specifications, design specifications, and technical procedures.
  • Analyze and optimize noise, leakage, signal integrity, and overall circuit performance.
  • Support verification, validation, manufacturing troubleshooting, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) activities.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to bring designs from concept through production.
  • Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) on complex electrical design and troubleshooting challenges.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable medical-device regulatory and quality requirements, including IEC 60601, design controls, and traceability.
  • Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation and design records throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • 8-10+ years in electrical design and analysis with hands-on circuit design experience.
